AOIP Micro-Ohmmeters are applying in Earth bonding and Metallization tests
- Customer: AIRBUS aircraft part production suppliers
- Goal: riveting door test / verify earth bonding
- Equipment: OM16
- Application: earth bonding and metallization.
- Measure under 10A with high resolution 0,1µohm.
- Small diameter kelvin test probes.
- Software is used in order to proceed to test onsite , save values and download when back to the office.
- Reproducibility: All parts of an aircraft, from flight commands to the undercarriage must be tested in earth bonding and continuity.

- Goal: verify that no electrostatic charges is stored on a particular points. NO CHARGE = NO EXPLOSION
- Equipment: OM16
- Application: earth bonding and metallization. Metallization is performed between several points of the aircraft or helicopter.

- Goal: control of carbon brushes
- Equipment: 2 x OM16 + Kelvin test probes
- Application:
- On a motor when current is crossing the brushes, a temperature rising can occur and the carbon brushes can melt, the resistance value must be very low.
- With OM16, a test can be performed on manufacturing process, threshold values are programmed and if one of them is crossed, the beeper indicates it to the operator.

- Application:
- The resistance measurement allows to determine the state of wear of cable. In this way it is possible to replace only the cable damaged.

- Goal: Bonding / Earthing in substations
- Equipment: OM10 and OM16
- Application:
- In substations, bonding and earthing connections must be regularly measured to ensure safety, i.e. to achieve and maintain low resistance joint: Copper earthing systems are found on every equipment in substations and must be regularly controlled, as well as the electrical connection between components that must remain at the same potential.
